new bunny set is out but it's almost 9 GB, and it's not because of super high quality, the pics are full of meta data, i'll wait for the compressed cleared version that should be around 2 GB
 
When people mirror content, shouldn't it be on a different platform? Or it's ok to be on the same platform?
 
When you say "compressed" you mean in a zip file, or you mean compressed the image (as in reduced the image's quality)?

Compressed as in reduced quality. I put the cleaned one. Meaning no compression, just clean of metadata
 
No, I removed the metadata from the 11 GB from megaupload. There I saw 2 .tif images. I converted those and then cleaned those too. I saw someone posted the photos also on sadpanda, but those are the compressed ones, which means less quality. Mine you can literally see the cervix. Almost.
 
I can assure you that I removed only the metadata. Yes, metadata can take up to 90% of the full weight. I was shocked too.
 
What are you using or what is your method to remove metadata?

I am having trouble downloading from Filester, otherwise i would have made a direct comparison between your file.
Edit to add that optimizing shaved around 3 MB extra in this case.
 
I use Tails. Which use Metadata Cleaner, a user interface for mat2. Unfortunately the project has been discontinued. But it still works inside Tails. It removes info like where the photo has been taken, all the program used and the version. If you take a photo with your phone, your phone gives data in the photo. Like when it was take, the exposure, the focus etc.. Those information are useful for photographers, but not for us. So clean then is always the better choice.
I can't link mat2 and Tails, so you have to do your own research.

I wish Filester wasn't such a massive pain in the ass sometimes so i could make a direct comparison.
 
There is no way metadata takes up 90% of the original file unless the original app writing the image is straight up broken. Metadata is just text and a thumbnail which takes a MB or two at most. The original files from Machi are huge because they're 100MP files from a professional medium format camera at maximum JPG quality exported from Photoshop. If you want to resize them or compress them to make them more manageable that's fine, but personally I'd rather take the original so I can see the detail of every fold inside Machi's pussy :SALAMI:
 
That's the test I did before, it's chroma subsampling that's how we managed to reduce the size by like 75% or more. We literally throw away 75% of the colour samples
