I use Tails. Which use Metadata Cleaner, a user interface for mat2. Unfortunately the project has been discontinued. But it still works inside Tails. It removes info like where the photo has been taken, all the program used and the version. If you take a photo with your phone, your phone gives data in the photo. Like when it was take, the exposure, the focus etc.. Those information are useful for photographers, but not for us. So clean then is always the better choice.
