read his error. not what you faced at all. adblock has nothing to do with this. he's complaining about my self hosted browser verification failing for him. likely a 0.0001% edge case
the past 24h, 148.000 people *coming from simpcity* successfully passed that "Verifying your browser…" without any issues.
Now lets address the wrongly displayed "This MP4 won't play in a browser."
I shouldn't have displayed that to users that can't load/connect to my cdn.
What went wrong the past days:
grabbed new domain to solely serve mp4/mov/mkv after reachability concerns
*pushes changes to tie its dl token to the users asn aka isp aka internet provider*
*bricks it for almost all of icloud private relay cause that switches between 3 isps(akamai cloudflare fastly)*
*causes issues for some weird vpns that hop between vpn asn's*
*affects 5% of simpcity users, enough to have a lot of complaints*
I fixed that about a day ago, a few people said it works since then.
Was still logging error rates after that, 2%, not good. Realized that this is due to some users using tight dns blocking features that block our new domainname for whatever reason (dodgy new freshly registered domainname is not liked much) and introduced fallbacks to subdomains of fileditchfiles/filedtichvids.st) and that pretty much fixed the issue dropping the error rate to pretty much 0%
oh hey nerds want stats? mp4's loaded from simpcity the past 2 weeks total 320TB
