from the trailers it seems like only ken will be the one thats humiliated as he cant even do a fireball, one of his signature moves! ryu remains ryu and will probably handle bison at the end after everyone else fails do so. and then chun will mainly just be there for fanservice/eye candy.
 
I think Chun-Li will more likely be the catalyst for the story, since she’s the one recruiting the fighters for the “World Warrior” tournament, but it’s pretty clear she’ll have her own hidden agenda of revenge against Bison. Her character should have some real weight in the story, but they shouldn’t turn the whole movie into “The Chun-Li Show” or “Chun-Li & Her Friends.”

In the games, Ken’s fireball was generally weaker than Ryu’s, with that being compensated by a more powerful Dragon Punch. As for Ryu, he looks serious and focused in the trailers, although he also seems a bit mopey and whiny, getting knocked out and then getting called out by Chun-Li for it. This was one great end fight 👊:


Btw, this is Callina Liang in 2023, and apparently she already had great legs even back then.

 
I do hope that the cultural zeitgeist around this film (or rather, her) sees a 'renaissance' in legs being percieved as sexy. I barely see people talking about how attractive nice legs are these days
 
I was about to watch this 2023 movie featuring her, but then I heard it's woke as hell, so... hard pass. (I did like the original Thai movie from 2017, though)


...or maybe I can just fast-forward through it, mute the audio, and only watch the parts where she appears 😂

To be honest, the movie was actually far better than I expected.
I watched it over a year ago and I did not know Callina back there. I enjoyed the movie anyway.
I rewatched this movie recently and it is good, still.
Plus, she slayed the role. The ending scene shows that she has the potential to be a very good actress. This bad bitch energy in this last scene was something I actually did not expect and even though entire movie's acting level was "solid", the ending slayed hard
 
Them movie tickets are being bought just to see her on that big screen. Incredible marketing by the film rolling her out everyday , I’ve forgotten who else stars in the film

Just so you guys dont get your hypes up. Just watched the movie, besides the bareass scene in the trailer, theres nothing much else from her.
A few shots are from behind her (shes fully clothed but still hot) and the scene that was shown in the trailer, goes into the "chun li shower scene" wheres shes wearing a bathrobe. It zooms in slowly, she drops the bathrobe revealing her back while the shower "vapor" hides everything. She turns around and the scene cuts into E Honda in a sauna (zoomed in his chest)

lol same here, the often seen narrative of WMAF in the west certainly dont help lmaoo. she also rarely features with Andrew koji, another costar of hers whos asian, but is always with this guy whos now known to be a gay friend of hers too
 
Just came home from the movie theatre. I had seen the (mostly bad) mixed reviews, and it almost swayed me to pirate it instead of pay. I really wanted it to be good, but damn it was fucking awful.
 
Damn. Why is it so hard to make a good movie adaptation of a fighting game these days? Why couldn’t the people behind Warrior, which also features Andrew Koji, a gang warring drama set in 1900s San Francisco between Irish-Chinese gangs with heavy awesome fight choreography and great directing handle this film? Or mortal kombat? Smh
 
Any other half-decent script would have been better than this. I really wish the Philippou Brothers did this movie instead of Bring Her Back. Allegedly they were offered to direct this first.
 
That’s crazy , that prank youtubers I used to watch (and I enjoy their horror films) would have done a better job than seasoned Hollywood vets. Total insanity. In any case, callina got the much needed boost to her profile she needed from the marketing. I’m sure most people won’t care about the acting chops as she inevitably gets more roles now , that are hopefully handled better
 
She really was the only good thing about the live action scenes. I hope her career flourishes after this.
 
That cut to E. Honda was hilarious. They got everybody with that one, I have seen some great memes of people's reaction to that, lmao.
