it's not entirely surprising, as google/youtube has been intent on making youtube profitable for a while now - which it really wasn't until late 2010 I think? Creators making silly noises in ears is fine, but when you switch over to offboarding links to adult sites whereby you get a girl tonguefucking you for ten minutes well...That becomes a different proposition that was ignorable by both advertisers and the platform, but in this era of neopuritanism we are urged to think of the kids.
Advertisers do think of the kids, and that's kind of the problem. The knock on effect is that it restricts creativity.
I would actually have less of a problem with it if they were more proficient and bothered by the amount of AI slop that makes it through tht net.
