Question Best tool to download from instagram?

Gramoire works great but the quality isn't always good when it comes to images. I downlaoded the same pics with pikogram and the pics were 1.4mb vs gramoire 150kb and Resolution was higher on piko aswell.
Sometimes its the same but rarely higher than piko.
Kinda weird.

But I’m going to stop using it. This is already the third warning Meta has sent me regarding suspected bot activity, and this time it was harder to get my account back. I've noticed that in recent months, Instagram has been closely monitoring any suspected scraping.
And I'm not someone who downloads a lot. I only downloaded a few videos a day, here and there, and always with a long delay between downloads. Even so, Instagram's system managed to detect the script.

I recommend you stop using it if you don't want to lose your account. Mine is from 2014, and I'm not going to risk losing it until I find another solution.

Other users are complaining about this too. You can see it in the feedback tab of the “ig helper” script.
 
Crazy to hear so many people having trouble with IG. I use indown and I have never had any problems.
 
I actually got several Meta challenges for sus activity until I deleted a bookmark for Snapinsta and they stopped completely.
 
I think they are now correlating the IP address you use on those Instagram story and post downloader sites (Anonig, Imginn, Snapinsta, etc.) with the IP address used for your accounts. It is best to open those sites in a separate browser, ideally in Incognito mode to avoid linking browser fingerprints, cookies, etc. And use a VPN with a different IP address to prevent any association.
 
Yes, I only look at Instagram on my phone now, and if I want to download I use PC and VPN.
 
I use pvstory but I’m not mass downloading. It gets a little annoying the further you go into past posts
 
It seems there is an issue on gallery-dl extractory
"[instagram][error] HTTP redirect to home page (https://www.instagram.com/)."
It was first only on Reels last week, then also extended to posts today :

I installed instaloader as an alternative, but it always stucks with this message :
JSON Query to api/v1/users/web_profile_info/: 429 Too Many Requests when accessing https://www.instagram.com/api/v1/users/web_profile_info/?username=profile [retrying; skip with ^C]
Number of requests within last 10/11/20/22/30/60 minutes grouped by type:
* other: 1 1 1 1 1 1
Instagram responded with HTTP error "429 - Too Many Requests". Please do not run multiple instances of Instaloader in parallel or within short sequence. Also, do not use any Instagram App while Instaloader is running.

Also tried yt-dlp, another issue...
ERROR: [instagram:user] : Unable to extract data; please report this issue on https://github.com/yt-dlp/yt-dlp/issues?q= , filling out the appropriate issue template. Confirm you are on the latest version using yt-dlp -U

All these programs were on their latest version.
Do you know other altenatives ?

Someone above mentioned wfdownloader. Just trying it out now myself and it seems to be working good. I used Gramoire and IG Grab previously but I started getting 429 errors yesterday.
 
I also have the same issues with both gallery-dl and instaloader. Not sure if meta changed something?
 
What is the best way to download from a public profile, without an account?
 
Yeah, Meta changed the API endpoints so posts/reels are borked on gallery-dl. I haven't tried wfdownloader myself, but it seems to be working. Not sure if a fix is coming, but Gramoire is still working for me.
 
For simple jobs like keeping up with daily postings imginn is great. They recently started pulling in reels as well and your downloads are source quality. For scraping an account it would be torture through, as you have to go post by post.
 
I tried Gramoire for the first time this past week and every profile I attempted failed immediately.
