I don't follow Yuriko closely, so what I'm saying is purely speculative and fantasy. I have the distinct feeling that Yuriko's downfall began (in part) when she opened up to more racy content. Perhaps in the short term, it brought her more income, but perhaps in the long run, it cut her off from companies and sponsors who might find it problematic to have a cosplayer doing even soft-core erotic content. Because I can see other cosplayers who may not have the same numbers as her, but who aren't in the same situation. I don't know if her choice at the time was driven by family needs, but as I said, I have the feeling it started there. And maybe being a foreigner in a racist country like Japan doesn't help either.
