Didn't OF truly start it's popularity when Bella Throne started advertising it? Then all of a sudden people who weren't even involved in sex work started realizing they could make money by letting people see how much of a freak they were.
 
It was popular before Bella Thorne. The only reason she jumped onto it was because of its popularity. It became more mainstreamed after she and other more mainstreamers appeared. It had a very, very brief period of non-adult content that went nowhere when it first opened. Leo, the founder of MyFreeCams was a majority owner. If anything, Thorne was the major contributer to the enshittification of the site, because her time there emboldened a lot of the "social media" scammers that turned to it during and after Covid. It was mostly amateur camgirls and porn girls in the early day.

For it to be a scam, she would have had to hide the fact that it wasn’t going to be nude content, and she didn’t. People being stupid enough not to read a clearly visible description is not scamming.
 
I sort of agree. People who see OF and immediately think "If it isn't spicy, it's a scam." are delusional.

You still gotta read what's being offered before you subscribe.

That being said, it was certainly cheeky on her part to open an OF account just to film herself talking about cards. Really not the first platform anyone would go to for that.
 
As I mentioned the last time this ridiculous argument came up, there are plenty of good reasons to open an OF account even if you don't intend to do spicy content, the chief of which being keeping someone ELSE from opening one to impersonate you, especially in this age of AI fakes. If people can't read the bio in which you clearly state what your intent is, that's not a "scam". That's their own stupidity/entitlement.

She is a bit of an air head. All she does on YouTube is watch movies and tv shows. George does literally everything else. he definitely taught her how to set up the recoding equipment and get it to sync etc. now i dont like George. I think he’s a weird guy, but you cannot deny he runs 100% of that channel. She basically a model for reactions. I have no doubt she just signed up to OF without looking into it the slightest. She wanted a revenue stream that was just hers and it failed because shes never actually done internet stuff on her own.
