I can't speak as to how true that is. I don't know that we hear enough about their personal/private lives to speculate, though I do remember a whole "Zylus is a cuck" meme going on in this very thread during the first year or so of Mousie's OF...
My point was rather that Bouphe has spent the better part of the past decade trying to bury what she did back then (and fair enough given her reasoning), so I'm not sure she'd want that past dug back up if she decided to indulge in OF now.
I don't doubt it. For the past dozen Triforce podcast episodes all Lewis has had to contribute is "guys being a new homeowner is haaaaaard" and his entire presence on most YT vids is basically just shouting at funnier people.
 
It's more that Tommy isn't really much of an interviewer. It's 100 questions but pretty surface level and not terribly probing. The whole Sjin/Turps/Caff scandal gets lightly touched on without even mentioning what happened, it's just assumed everyone watching knows, and there's not much that goes into it.
I think there is genuinely a very interesting human story behind the man who created the Yogscast but this wasn't the interview(er) to reveal it. I don't know, maybe the 50 or so questions that are only in the patreon-exclusive video are more revealing.
 
I mean, not really. I've been around since the Something Awful forum days so I'm pretty familiar with the whole deal and Lewis in general. TL;DR at the end.
He started with a very funny friend (Simon) and made a ton of World of Warcraft videos on Youtube featuring said funny friend. As it gained in popularity more of their Something Awful/Ye Olde Goone Squade friends started joining in...which is pretty much when it became the Yogscast.
After finding middling success with these WoW vids and the YoGPod for a while he started up a Minecraft series that blew up in popularity alongside the game itself and Lewis started outsourcing various bits of production to friends and acquaintances because he couldn't handle it himself. I actually became involved during the Shadows of Israphel days, but in the interests of not completely doxing myself I'll just say I had a minor role but still bore witness to a lot of the behind the scenes stuff at the time.
Alongside this series was born the Yogscast forums which Lewis handed off to folks like Peva, phatima and (pirate)Tinman to run. Tinman, as some of you might know, ended up embezzling tens of thousands of pounds via ads on the site and took off. Lewis couldn't bring himself to deal with it, because Lewis, so he brought in someone from the outside, ridgedog, to be a hatchet man. Ridge then basically fired off a bunch of good folks and alienated half the community which ended up being the end of the Yogscast forum because Lewis at some point couldn't be arsed with it anymore and dropped the whole thing rather than work at fixing it. Ridgedog was fired a year or so after Lewis hired him to do his dirty work. Other folks eventually stepped into leadership roles and got the ball rolling again at YogTowers.
Then along comes the whole Sjin/Turps/Caff (and "others", though those weren't as public) thing and again it comes down to Lewis not wanting to deal with anything problematic. He brushed aside allegations and basically ignored it for the most part until it became too big to ignore. It wasn't until Yogscast as a whole was basically under threat of collapse from all of these shitty people doing shitty things that he finally decided to get off his ass--because he was practically forced to at that point.
I stopped associating/working with Yogscast around this time precisely because of how Lewis (and other top-level folks, but primarily Lewis) wasn't dealing with it, so my firsthand knowledge ends around here. I say working with and not for because I was never paid for the minor projects I did for them and Lewis never bothered communicating with me directly past giving me a task and then ignoring followup questions or concerns I had.
At any rate, since then Lewis has pretty much been the guy who calls other businesses/charities/organizations to ask about participation in Jingle Jam or sponsorships since he's the face of the company, while the majority of the rest of the work gets done by more competent folks with social skills.
The TL;DR of it is that Lewis is an awkward nerd who stumbled into success by exploiting his funnier friends (I don't mean exploiting altogether negatively here) but whenever things get hard he either throws his hands up in resignation or retreats and tasks other people to deal with it instead of getting his hands dirty.
Oh, and then there's the whole "Lewis is being a creep on dating apps around Bristol" thing that came out a few years ago but I have no knowledge of that past what's been posted on Reddit so all I can say about that is it's believable given he rarely knows how to act appropriately in social settings. I'll chalk that one up to something he can't help, though.
 
First I've heard of this. I don't remember seeing anything on Reddit about it at all
 
It was years ago and to be fair it might not have been Reddit. I tend to lump all of the random bits of things I read as "Reddit" when I can't precisely remember the source...because 90% of the time it was from there. It's also possible I'm vaguely recalling things that were said to me in person as far as that part goes. I'd go on a search to find a source except a) search engines have been rendered nearly useless these days and b) there's been a lot of Yogscast dirt that's been effectively purged from the net over the years.
After my previous post I went into an old subfolder of Yogscast bookmarks I kept during that stint and at least half of the testimonials, blog posts and "other" from former employees are 404'd now. Some of those are undoubtedly due to harassment from toxic Yogs fans. But I did find this which partially backs up some of my prior rant. Oh, and I also failed to mention that ridge was--eventually--fired because he skipped out on his wife, left the country to evade child support and then got locked up because he was either threatening to or had hurt his (new) pregnant wife. Either one or both of them were previously fans. Can't remember.
ANYWAY, can one of the OF Yogs please post something to get us back on track? I apologize for my part in the derailment.
 
Mousies kemono hasn't been updated this year, she given up on the patreon or no one's posted the sets?
 
I'm pretty sure I've read in the past month or so that kemono itself is dead.
 
It seems to be working on cr, maybe lost a few months but at least a quick check loads posts contents. Looks like it’s true that it “dies” every once in a while
 
I don't use it so I couldn't say for sure, but what I read was that after it came back up people still weren't able to get updated stuff from their models. Though this was as I said a month ago so maybe it's been fixed in the interim. I do know I saw folks in another thread saying it was still borked within the past week.
EDIT: The most recent cached updated artists are from April, if that's any indication.

He is not. He was never charged with any crimes and never engaged with actual children. And people who say shit like that probably don't even know age of consent in UK is 16.
 
i never called him a pedo, i wasn't aware of that particular accusation against him, all i knew is that he was a fucking creep who tried to hit on and get nudes from his coworkers.
but any time some random dude (read: you) is talking about how low the age of consent is in certain countries in defense of creeps, it tells me pretty much all i need to know about that dude lol
 
What does it tell you. Please continue. Don't just imply things. Also, can you show me where i defended his actions?
