Tools Ways to rip entire TikTok profile?

Can anyone help me figure out how to download a profiles highlights? They don't appear on desktop and there's no share button to grab the URL from the app
 
As of right now it's not possible to download them through any of the usual tools, like yt-dlp, gallery-dl, and awemer. Also, damn it, the highlights (archived stories) are only available for the TikTok app (Android, iOS, etc.), not for the website. We're kinda doomed here :Sadge: One would probably have to somehow check his network traffic from his Android/iOS device when playing the highlights to grab the direct links. I don't really know :peepoShrug: Maybe we should make a petition to TikTok, to enable them for the website so we can scrape them :PepeLaugh:
 
Permaloop is decent, but it needs some work. If you try to archive a user with 100s of post, it will only save 300. They need to fix that shit.
But it does archive any new post after they have been added to my monitor list (within a few hours of been posted.)
Anyways, I was able to monitor 17,000 accounts. If anyone wants me monitor their list, just send it over and I can do so. :MLADY:
 
I am building a tool to do this, but fuck its hard to do.
Has anyone noticed that TikTok only lets you see stories/highlights of your most recent 5,000 followers. I am missing stories from the first girls I followed (which were the girls that got me hooked to TikTok), now that I'm following over 10,000 accounts. :Sadge:
At first I thought the girls were not posting stories, but if you manually go to their profiles, you can see the stories.
 
You can get a link if you view stories on the website. I have a script that scrapes all the stories from a user, and then pushes those links into a downloading tool like permaloop or savetik. But it works from the direction of going and reviewing a profile, and not the other way around, only reviewing when there is a new story.
If anyone has a way to get a push notification that a user posted new stories, that would be much better than setting a scheduled review of a profile to see if there are any new stories.
 
If I am understanding what you mean by 'highlights', I believe you can see them on the website. Their profile pic has a ring around it (like IG) and you can click on that. Is that what you are talking about?
 
Nope that's just their story, the highlights I first noticed maybe a month ago it seems to be a new feature exclusive to the TikTok app. It's the same idea as Instagram highlights, the largest problem arises when a user posts a new story AND adds it to their highlights at the same time which prevents you from downloading the story/highlight.
I suppose on the bright side someone may figure out a way to scrape their highlights so the story is there ripe for the plucking lol
 
Permaloop pushed a big update. New request to monitor or archive an entire account is working properly (even if the account has over 300 posts). :POGGIES:
But I don't think its fixed for accounts that you previously requested or monitored. :Sadge:
 
hey does anyone know how to save sub only videos? I’ve tried android emulators already but tiktok just crashes on them
 
Hey, whats the current recommendation now? if you care about metadata as well as the media payload...
i used to use 4KTokkit, because it was easy, well structured and worked. But it looks like its busted now unfortunately. So i have to wire something up in house now. i want the media, but also the descriptions, date, etc
 
Share it as a link, they use any common tool (TikWM HD also works)
 
thanks men this is the easiest way and its working just fine, went through 20 page in here and they all talk abouts programing and engineering sending rocket to moon and not saying anything about scrapping tikitok like the thread name says.
 
4K broke a few months ago. :Sadge: Not sure if the developers will fix it. I used it to save so many profiles, so I got good use out of it.
If you want something like 4K, Permaloop is the closest. If you want to do all the scraping and storage the comment above mentions JD.
 
Does anyone know of a script or extension that shows the number of videos/photos a profile has? Similar to how you see the follows/likes an account has. I don't want to unknowingly rip an account with like 3000 videos.
 
Open page source for the profile and search for "videoCount". It's usually not accurate (stories amongst some other posts add to the total number IIRC) but close enough.
 
I hope im not insensitive to ask right off the bat, but for those who have been on this thread for a while (20+ pages), do you know the best tiktok post scraper that can easily import the scraped content into a forum thread here? Any suggestions are appreciated.
