I was using Topaz Video, but I'm sick of the $200 a year pricing, so I quit using it. Can someone recommend something similar, that I just pay for to have forever, and don't keep paying for every year?

VideoProc, i use it daily, good for alot of things, not just upscaling.
Lifetime license is cheap. Gl :pepoLove:

For image enhancing I use dewatermark, used to have credits for free accounts that they’d give daily, but now it seems like it’s 3 images a day per IP.

Just tried it and, as I see, the Image AI (Fidelity) and Compressor (HEVC) features work satisfactorily. And I liked AV1 option in the Super Resolution, outputs smaller files, but the upscaling quality is subjective. It might be more useful in Anime. I got better results with Topaz AI, but it outputs bigger sized files usually.

I tried v8.11 which is the latest one. It also downloads the models once they have been selected.

Very nice! I paid for lifetime licence, i haven't tried Topaz yet though, but now i am intrigued, you are saying quality wise it looks better?
When i use Video Proc i use these settings for example for upscaling videos:
|X| High Quality Mode
Model Settings: 4x (if possible)
HEVC
And on Quality Level i choose "High" instead of "Highest"
Because i really don't think that there are any significant differences between the two, just that "Highest" takes an insane amount of time.
Where did you get the Topaz? :HACKERMANS::PepeHmm:

Topaz Video AI is more professional software and it also has many settings to fine tune the video. For example, I was using Proteus model with Grain amount 5, Grain size 2 and Recover detail 100%, and with these settings, I can get pretty satisfying results. Here is a 4K fragment result from a DVD (VOB) source (did not deinterlaced, though, but the details are obvious). But the version that I use is a bit outdated I think (v7.1.2).
And depending on your hardware, exporting will take much longer than with VideoProc.
Well, I'm a member of private DDL forum called Snahp. Thanks to the folks there, I can get many softwares without having trouble. They share many content including softwares. However there is also public Russian lrepacks DDL site, you may find it there as well. :EZ:
