Didn't she get doxxed or something? Back in the day, I mean. I have this vague memory of her freaking out real bad because some asshole fan decided to contact her/her family irl. But it has been so much time that I might be misremembering. And then she got a bunch of shit from commentary channels calling her "ungrateful" for "throwing it all away", lmao.
But you're right, it is absurd to have these conversations on this platform, lol. Then again, I basically haven't seen the news mentioned anywhere, neither on vTuber communities nor gaming ones. Which is kinda sad tbh, but also weird because at some point she was fairly popular within the niche. But she never cared to grow her audience later. She basically had for years the same ~60k subs on twitch, around 150 viewers on average, always the same people. She seemed to like it though. But maybe it became too much, or she needed to move on.
Her retirement was sudden and, as often happened with her, completely devoid of explanation and closure towards the audience (which is her right, it's just that it kinda sucks), but looking back, maybe the signs were there. From the second half of last year she was barely posting, often skipped streams without telling anyone. Well maybe she was giving a heads up on her discord, but I wasn't much on it.
