VPN is kind of pointless since you have to login. I would try it without and see what happens. I am not sure I understand "frozen" in this context. No errors or anything?
Yes it 'works with VPN' but that doesnt mean it will work with all VPNs / VPN servers out there.
You may have picked a bad server with a flagged IP or something.
That's not a problem. The update server was DMCA'd and this is just the program saying it can't reach it. Does not affect the programs ability to download files. If you are having a problem this error is unrelated.
