That might be true to some extent, I don't have data on that and never look at sales ranking. But manga/anime is full of huge tits, it's something at least a sizeable part of the public loves and that's also the case for JAV. Look at Hitomi, she's one of the biggest legends of the industry.
I think with Momoka the issue was clearly her lack of charisma and the fact that she never really seemed to enjoy herself. If you compare her attitude on stage with Yuu Tano or Ako Kimura it's night and day. She had a killer body but didn't show much emotion...

You’re total right. It’s never that these girls aren’t attractive or have appealing body types. It’s often that they lack any sort of charisma or stage presence or don’t show a modicum of interest or n what they are doing. Clearly they never wanted to get into JAV and it shows through their performances which makes them wildly unpopular to watch no matter how hot they look. I felt the same way about Shiori Tsukada whenever she announced her retirement. Dynamite body without a doubt, but god help her she never looked remotely interested in anything she ever filmed.

I am more conerned that we still do not have sone-548, snos-144 and snos-107 4k bd-rips. And the more time passes, the less likely it will happen.
 
Considering how small her filmography is it's truly a shame, i would love to have everything about her in max quality.
 
While it seems unlikely she'll return (I'm disappointed by the "big announcement" being this, but not surprised- she seems to really be enjoying golf) there IS a small chance she can sign with a new agency and return under a different name. Ex: Minami Haru used to be Minato Haru, Hikaru Nagi was Asuka Aka and Shiose, etc. Maybe the golf will get too expensive and force a return of some sort. One can dream
