While it absolutely is sad, she is very lucky to have gotten this sentence. She likely took a plea deal, considering her no contest plea and the fact that most cases do end with a plea deal. She's lucky that her failure to appear didn't nullify the deal and get her sentenced to the max.

When she was initially arrested, it was for possession of more than 1 gram of methamphetamine, which is a sentence of 2-20 years. Then it was downgraded to possession of under 1 gram for some reason.

What I am saying is that she is VERY lucky, and it is also sad. Jails don't have the resources to treat people for addiction (prisons aren't any better). There's not much of a reason to believe she's going to finish her sentence clean and sober.
 
Such a stupid "justice" system. She clearly needs treatment, not punishment. I eagerly await the day we have Fully Automated Luxury Space Communism, though I suspect I won't be alive to see it...
 
I used to watch her a lot in my adolescence and I hope she will get better and live a happy life. I am really upset about what's happening to her
