Right, but that’s not what the overwhelming majority of people who use the term “The Purple App” are referring to, they’re referring to Twitch.
That term came about from TikTok, once people thought that TT was suppressing mentions of other platforms on its own, so people came up with an alternative way to say/mean “Twitch” to avoid that suppression. Same proper name-avoidance mechanism that led to those dumb-but-functional alternative terms like “grape” or “SA” (sexual assault) and “unalive” (murder/suicide) and “spicy site” (OnlyFans).
Sure, there’s that other app, but she isn’t on that one. Non-coincidentally, of all her social platforms, the only one as of this writing she’s mentioned/promoted her streaming is TikTok.
In her context, “the purple app” doesn’t mean PURPLE: Play, Chat, and Stream, which virtually no one has ever heard of, has 39 reviews on the App Store (most of which say it doesn’t work), and only has the following “connection regions” to choose from: Global, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.
Where did you “hear” the “purple app” term? Was it TikTok?
