It’s if the story requires the character to be nude, but the actress can’t or doesn’t want to do a nude scene. Lena Heady was pregnant iirc and couldn’t do a nude scene, but her character had to do the walk of shame which was her walking naked throughout the town. So they had to get another actress to do the nude scene and cgid Lena’s face onto the double
 
The point is so that the finished product still has nudity but you don't have to go through the process of being naked on set. Is that something you could understand? Not wanting to be naked in front of a bunch of weirdos on a film set for hours at a time?
