The biggest predictor for the last girls standing is living level and following size. If they are rich and don't care to grow a big audience, forget it, it will never happen.
 
I think you have it exactly, since that was the trajectory of the person I know IRL who did it. It's really common and like djfap said, they often make no money and have their lives ruined. Members of licensed professions like RNs can get in huge amounts of trouble, any public-facing person can get laid off for reputational damage to their company, teachers obviously will be fired etc. etc.
Which is too bad because the true amateur stuff is what I like best, but yeah unfortunately regular women run a lot of risks. I think the average OF girl makes less than $500 a month or something.

OMGCosplay, Belle Delphine, and plenty of others... I doubt they have any regrets or face real-life issues because of what they did. People forget things easily; unless you're constantly active on social media and riding the latest trends, most of the creeps will have forgotten about you within two years at most, only a few sickos like us actually remember.
The biggest problem I see with the life they choose is the issue of financial planning and control. It’s a "job" that pays very well, but if you want to stop or lose your appeal, you need a backup to maintain a comfortable life... the trouble is, most of these girls live for the moment, often getting into drugs and stuf like that and can't keep it once their numbers start to drop.
 
If the likes of Traci Lords or Sasha Grey can have more "legitimate" careers after porn, then there is life after taking your clothes off for some extra bucks on OF. The ones that find it toughest to do are the ones who are most notorious for their adult content. The average girl doing OF using a fake name typically has nothing to worry about so long as they distance themselves from their old life and do something out of the spotlight. At this point, I'm not sure that Shae would find it as easy to disappear, but then again, those that gain Internet infamy tend to disappear from collective memory pretty fast if they simply stay out of the spotlight.
