Yep. Gotta have some sort of deal where both parties win. I feel like most of the time I just see that both parties upload the same content to their own pages. On rare occasion, I see both parties have their own content and essentially cross promote each other ("I filmed this video with X. We filmed another that X is selling on their page"). And I assume there's also a ton where one person just pays another an upfront fee. I'm curious with GJ did. I feel like a "We're doing super well so you'll get followers just from the exposure by fucking us" angle would still be not enough but maybe some girls are that dumb?
