I understand that warning points do not expire, but could I ask if one of my warning points be removed or an exception to be made? I think I explain the rationalle in the below link pretty well. But essentially it bogs down to the fact that once a heavy user has hit 7 warning points they essentially are completely discouraged from posting in main/mega threads out of fear of ever making another mistake. Yes I know others go hundreds of posts without making a mistake, yes I know I put myself at 7 warning points by making the mistakes myself. But it altogether doesn't change the end outcome that I essentially have relegated my posts to discussion threads.

I think it's pretty clear that someone who averages 100ish likes per post, has been on the site for years, is a bit higher ranked, is acting in good faith and made mistakes like using the wrong website for a mirror, or not understanding how a megathread worked the first time they used one.

Is there any way I could do anything to negate a single warning point? The difference between 7 & 6 is massive.

All of your warnings have been legit and I'm sure some of your posts that have been deleted without warning have been lenient.

You've gone through 2 temp suspensions (3 days and 7 days), which of course factors into your request - but just read and follow the rules it isn't that hard and it's really, after multiple warnings and multiple temp suspensions, no longer a mistake if you break them. That is the whole point of the warning and automated banning system. Why would 2 points to a perma ban differ from 3 points to a perma ban in your opinion? Unless you're thinking you'll get a 2 point warning and that will just be your saving grace that it isn't 3?

Edit to add:

2 of your warnings have been from the exact same megathread; one for megathread rules where you failed to provide social links (the first warning) and the other where you just spammed the megathread with "holy fuck, that's my cousin" (the second warning). Another warning was for just straight up reposting the file that was directly above your post into your "mega album" from a non-mirrorable host. I just don't see how you can get special leeway here.

To answer your question about the difference between 2 and 3 points: it’s less about expecting a "saving grace" and more about the margin for human error (which clearly I’ve been prone to, albeit for fairly different reasons each time). With only 2 points remaining, a simple mistake like using an unapproved mirror host or a repost mix-up in a main thread can immediately trigger a permanent ban making participation feel high-risk regardless of intent.

The thought behind a point reduction or a periodic decay system (e.g., dropping 1 point every 6 months of clean behavior) was that if a mistake did happen, it would trigger a temp suspension rather than an immediate perma-ban, which feels like a more fitting step before a complete account loss. The decay could specifically just be limited to users in simp connoisseur+ to avoid bad faith actors.

I think that someone with hundreds of posts and tens of thousands of likes is clearly a better faith actor than someone who joins and hits 7 warning points before they ever reached simp council. Again I understand I was the big dummy, but at the end of the day its forum users who get less content, not the person with the warnings if they are too scared to messup again (this applies for everyone who gets to 7 warning points).

The only thing I can think of you being scared of, now knowing and reading the rules (you even know that 9 points is a perma ban), is intentional and egregious reposting - which is not something that is warned for nearly as much as anything else. Just be careful in the future and follow the rules and you have nothing to worry about, even at 7 points.

And to be honest, even at 6 points you might hit a 3 pointer which will perma you anyway - and if you hit a 1 pointer the automated system will 7 day suspend you once again. There is almost no difference between having 6 points and 7 points other than the specific type of warning that would get you to 9 points.

The point isn't that I want to sit at 6 points instead of 7.

If I were at 8 points or 6 points the same logic would still apply. That being; without decay you are better off not posting out of fear of ever making a mistake or even the rare case where a mod makes a mistake & you have no ability to appeal. Posting itself becomes exponentially riskier once you've already triggered a 7-day suspension and are operating on the absolute edge of a permanent ban. It's your fault for getting yourself here yes, but like I've said the end result is just fear of posting.

Decay for those who have hit simp connoisseur solves this problem, and could even be capped to not fall below a certain amount. It could also even be tied to number of posts without a warning, say 50, instead of time based. To encourage those with high warning points to post well & often enough to lower their bar for banning.

I'm sorry but you have no idea how many people actually just farm to this rank, this would make it even worse.

I have no idea how this makes any sense if you actually read and follow the forum rules. The warnings have already automatically linked you to the rules, which you should be reading and following. I do not understand the "fear of posting" that you're pushing here, just post within the guidelines we have laid out.

The important thing is that you know the rules now and you just shouldn't break them. If this discourages you from posting then that's unfortunate - mostly because you can't just follow the rules.

FOBB (fear of being banned) is a real thing. You don't have to understand it, just understand that it exists. I shot my happy ass up to (I think) 5 points without even realizing it. Best believe that my eagerness to post has waned. I tend to just stick on the discussion topics and I rarely post content now. In the end, it makes me less valuable to the forum since I'm more a lurker/talker than a contributor.

The decay idea makes total sense and (to some extent) rewards people who are willing to stick with the forum and wait for the decay to take effect. But, your forum, your rules. :MLADY:

Agreed on this -- the major vulnerability patch just dropped. It's a pretty bad one, is there a plan to get this updated (I can't post a link but check out the official php news feed, version 8.5.12 that fixes CVE-2026-109618, CVE-2026-109619m that can allow remote code execution.

It's been going on for a while. Most of my posts just get vanished and recently I made a post in links whitelist thread and that too just vanished.

Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong. I'm trying my best to abide by the rules and share links of content that is valuable to relevant threads.

Im getting annoying ads on bunkr now. Im using ublock origin. Has anyone already dealt with this issue? Im just wondering what others are using so i can switch to that. Thanks.

edit: If someone recently got this issue, i am pretty sure this script saved me: https://greasyfork.org/en/scripts/492026-stop-nefarious-redirects/post-install. I installed it on tampermonkey and violent monkey.

I also installed https://github.com/zDania4/blocklist and https://greasyfork.org/en/scripts/478508-ultimate-popup-blocker/post-install.

I basically threw shit at a wall to see what worked. Hope this helps.

Contact ublock origin and ask them to update. Its really simple, you have a problem with an adblocker not blocking ads you raise it with the adblocker not the site.

I think the point here is that even though you know the rules - accidents or misunderstandings happen. And when the punishment is getting banned, that would discourage people from posting.

For example, something that happened in the Nananightray thread: a contributor posted a gofile link with a video/photoset. A couple days later he uploaded another photoset in the same gofile album without telling anyone or editing his comment. Shortly after someone uploaded (reposted) the same photos in a separate comment and got his comment deleted for reposting. He didn't double check the gofile link from two days ago because, why would he - he had already seen it.

It might make sense to have the option for an admin to review your warnings and clear them on a person-to-person basis, obviously only for the big contributors, accidents happen.
