She just posted this on Reddit. No discussion channel, but man. This is tragic.

Hi Reddit.
My name is Sarah Lee. But for the last three years, you’ve known me as
bobabuttgirl.
I know. It’s a silly name. It was a joke I made when I was 20, happy, and thought I had forever. I thought the only thing that could hurt me was a bad breakup or a failed exam. I didn’t think about lymphoma.
Yesterday, I turned 23. Today, the doctor told me I have aggressive lymphoma.
I’m writing this not because I want pity. I’m writing this because I’m scared. Not of the pain. I’m scared of the silence.
Do you know what a hospital smells like? It doesn’t smell like medicine. It smells like cold fear mixed with stale vending machine coffee. I’m lying in
Room 302 right now, staring at my hands. The veins are blue because they’re full of chemotherapy that’s trying to kill the thing that’s already killing me.
My mom was crying in the bathroom so I wouldn’t hear her. My cat,
Boba (yes, really), is sleeping on my pillow. He doesn’t understand why I can’t pet him the way I used to. I don’t have the energy.
I have insurance. But it only covers "standard treatment." The doctors say I need
immunotherapy. It’s experimental. It’s expensive. It is the only chance I have to see my 25th birthday.
The cost is
$25,000.
It’s not a million dollars. For some of you, it’s a vacation. For others, it’s a new car. For me, it’s the chance to see Boba grow up. It’s the chance not to die at 23 because we didn’t have the extra money for the "experiment."
I know how this works. You read thousands of stories. You’re tired of "please help." You want facts.
Here they are:
- Scan of my diagnosis is in the comments (personal info blurred).
- Invoice from the clinic is in the comments.
- I’m not asking for a million. I’m asking for a chance.
Why am I posting from this account? Because I was scared to make a new one called "Sarah_With_Cancer". I wanted to stay
bobabuttgirl just a little longer. I wanted the world to see me as the girl who loved memes, not just "Patient 302."
If you read this far, you have a heart.
If you have extra money, please don’t leave me in this silence. Even $5 means something. Even $5 is proof that I am not alone.
Thank you for listening. I’m going to lie down now. The meds are making me nauseous.

With love,

P.S. If you have a cat—pet them today. Tell them "you’re good." It will help you, and it will help me.
