guys i have a 7700xt , which does upscaling pretty good but when i use same setting on my nvidia gpu (5060) , file size just rockets up , also its a bit blurry(even tho with higher bitrate) , i have to change codec setting to constant bitrate to match file size but then quality is shit anyways in nvidia , am i missing anything? - 7800x3d cpu for amd and i5 14 gen for nvidia
Absolutely. 80% reduction in size for a minimal loss of quality. All of which can be controlled for personal size vs quality balance. Topaz or Adobe Premier, I now finish everything with Hand break. Heck, I start a lot of project with Hand break too! Sometimes it even corrects for framing issues. I find resizing in Hand Break massively easier than Adobe.

i have tried using seedvr2 , when im comparing that with Nomos8k that i'm using in real video enhancer github.
To be frank, seedvr2 is really good when your source is not really good (pixelated, blur, vintage), and it's really add more detail and the thing is, there might be a slight of AI look when it's upscaled, but it's only a few frames ever. And when i compared it with Nomos8k, i used the seedvr2 output.
But here's the take, it will take longer to make using seedvr2, im using that to upscale 10 minute PMV 1080p, and it took like 10 hours on H100 GPU.

A homebrew upscale and interpolate on one of Sierra Lisabeth's vids (Twin Nurses, her best work imo). The initial upscale and enhance was done with Topaz Video: Starlight Precise. Quite surprised at how it turned out, way different than the old models. It also took 10 hours on an overclocked 4090 for a 5 minute video. Interpolated with Apollo to 60fps and then transcoded through handbrake for some file size gains. The gofile folder has the original and the enhanced for comparison.
I also found that Starlight Precise managed to make it look better on the 4k upscale rather than just enhancing the base resolution. The 1080p version had more artifacting weirdness to it.
Using starlight precise on some other stuff was the first time I didn't think AI enhancing wasn't straight gimmick tier.

You’re a goat, bro. I just recently got into upscaling. I’m on the latest version of Topaz Video. I have a 4060 and a 5600X with 16GB of RAM, so the only models I can use are every other one besides Starlight—it would literally take me a day and some more just for a 3-minute video. I’ve been tweaking with Gaia, Gaia-2, (for anime) Proteus, and Proteus Natural (for real life porn). Toward the end of this year, I’m upgrading to a way better PC.
