Since we've been posting videos of similar events lately, I'd like to introduce something a little different.
(However, I'll still be uploading videos from the photo shoot event mentioned above little by little, so don't worry. I'm glad it was well-received.)
This is a photograph of a Japanese street performance called the "金粉ショー(gold dust show)" in which men and women wearing only tiny thong have their entire bodies painted gold and perform a dance in the streets.
It is said to have originated when an American theater troupe visited Japan before WW2 and performed it in a Japanese theater, and it became popular in Japanese clubs during the 1960s and 70s.
Even today, some street performer groups continue this dance, and it is performed at local festivals such as the "大須大道町人祭"
This festival is a large-scale event that attracts 500,000 visitors over two days, and most of the performances held there are wholesome and family-friendly, such as magic shows, pantomime, and musical performances.
However, the gold dust show continued to appear openly at this event despite being almost completely naked.
(In recent years, regulations have finally been put in place, and female dancers now cover their chests.)
Because it's a widely publicized festival, there are many images and videos of it available online.
