Discussion thread for Natalie Portman
Natalie Hershlag (born June 9, 1981), known professionally as Natalie Portman, is an actress, film producer and director with dual Israeli and American citizenship. She has had a prolific screen career from her teenage years and has starred in various blockbusters and independent films, receiving multiple accolades, including an Academy Award, a BAFTA Award, and two Golden Globe Awards. She's known for her versatility in both film and theater, and her roles in the Star Wars prequels and Black Swan. Portman graduated from Harvard with a psychology degree while pursuing acting. In 1999, she competed in the Science Talent Search with a project on converting waste into energy, which was published in a scientific journal.

She's been a fave of mine for a long ass time. Still remember seeing her topless in the tabloids back when Attack of the Clones was coming out. Love her.
 
I watched her movies but was kind of ambivalent about her when she was young. I seemed to always watch her on late night talks shows though. Then Sometime in her 30s I became utterly obsessed with her.
 
There was a period in the late '90s and early 2000s where she had several movies come out (Star Wars, Anywhere But Here and Where The Heart Is).
That was when she first popped on my radar. I also became obsessed with her and tried to watch anything she was in.
 
Top 10 Hollywood crushes. I didn't watch those Star Wars movies, I just thought she was a super attractive girl-next-door type. I got more and more into her over the years. Still bummed about her deleted topless/maybe even full-frontal scene in "Closer."
"Your Highness" is the most surprising thing she's ever done. It's a total raunchy bro comedy. She even agreed to a gratuitous thong scene. Yes, it was her - only the dive into the water was a body double. She claims she only took the role in the event that "Black Swan" needed extra funding. But was that really the only choice at the time? I get the feeling she has a dirty side to her personality. That along with the director being on a hot streak.
 
That was just blown out of proportions at the time and only got worse over the years.

Natalie's comment makes it clear that the nudity filmed was at the start of the lengthy conversation with Clive Owen's character in the strip club. It starts with Natalie standing on the table, pulling her thong up (only legs visible), then crouching down and putting the bra on. The camera is behind her, so we don't get to see her tits. You can see that she was wearing a second thong underneath (just in case there was anyone still thinking full-frontal was in any way an option). So what was shot but not included was the opposite angle (camera behind/next to Clive Owen) where her tits would have been visible for a few seconds, between crouching down and putting the bra on.
 
Why do you think you became obsessed with her not at first but later on?
 
Good Question. I've asked myself this. Someone said years ago that if you're an adult and Natalie is your favorite actress then you're probably a pervert. I guess this is because when she was REALLY young, the p*d* crowd was her biggest fanbase. Well I watched Léon for the first time about 14 years ago and I just downloaded Beautiful Girls so, not that I'm above it, I just wasn't in that group. When I watched her in the Star Wars films, not only did she do nothing for me but I thought she was kind of annoying in them. These Days However, I think she was sex walking in those movies, particuarly Attack of the Clones. Natalie in Closer, again, is hotter to me now than when I first saw it years ago. Despite how hot she was in that movie she still seemed like a (very naughty) little girl to me. V for Vendetta though, which came out only a year later, all of a sudden she seemed like a woman to me. Maybe the scene where she dressed up like a schoolgirl and at this point clearly wasn't a schoolgirl triggered me. And then I was low key obsessed with her. Every Talk Show she went on, I watched but she also made a bunch of movies I didn't watch so it wasn't like I was thinking about her all the time, anything but. Then she made Black Swan. I own 20+ of her films today and the one she wins an oscar for I still don't like, for any number of reasons. First being, I just don't buy the concept. I guess girls like that movie but I didn't get it. Secondly, she met and married her husband and I was furious, lol. Anyway, she had a couple of kids and I kind of moved on. And then somewhere around 2018, the year Annihilation and Vox Lux came out, I started noticing when she was doing press for them that she'd turned into this sexpot milf when I wasn't looking. And then my interest in her was back on, stronger than ever. Then She went on A Little Late with Lilly Singh....MY GOD was she auditioniting for Basic Instict 3? If anyone has that upscaled in 4k don't hestitate to post it. It was at this point I realized how much Natalie likes showing off her legs and how low key PROVOCATIVE she dresses and acts at red carpet events. Then The Premiere of 'Lucy In The Sky' in 2019 happened and I still haven't recovered from that. So that's it in a nutshell. I suppose I always thought she was cute but 2018-2019 it moved to another level and continues to be that way.

Fun fact for anyone wondering:
This was not some random candid of Natalie Portman as a true spectator at a college football game (if the cameraman and other people with studio equipment in the background wasn't a giveaway). Instead it is from the 2017 Terrence Malick movie: Song to Song. You can even see fellow actor Michael Fassbender right next to her in the clip as well.
I remember seeing the same clip a few years back when it was making the rounds on social media, and I was a little curious and confused why she was at a college football game in Texas given the fact that she never went to either of the schools playing and she's not even from the state (she went to Harvard, and grew up in various towns on the East coast before her family settled in Long Island, NY). And I wasn't the only one too who thought that it was a legit candid. I did some digging and that's when I found out about the movie. Ngl I still need to give it a watch.
 
Nah, I knew it wasn't real because I remember all the press about her filming in Austin at the time. Absolutely one of hottest eras of her professional career imo.

I swear that every time I see her she's getting more and more of that milf look. She's totally developed that mature look now. And as a self-proclaimed milf enthusiast, I'm here for it :hyperz: I can picture her as if she's the hot single mom next door. Which now that I think about it; would be a roll that she'd now be able to play flawlessly on screen. Some screenwriter in Hollywood seriously needs to get on top of that and start creating a script with her in mind based on that premise. :FeelsGeniusMan::RICH:
